Program Information

Scottsville Athletic Association baseball is a 100% volunteer organization that teaches the basic fundamentals of baseball including teamwork and sportsmanship.  We are always looking for coaches, umpires and field maintenance help.  Please email SAA Baseball Director Evan Shaffer (evanjshaffer@gmail.com) if interested.

2023 Season Starts Mid April, Ends Early June.

In 2021, SAA Baseball partnerned with Chili Baseball and finished another fun season with great success at the Coach Pitch, Minors and Majors levels! Lianna Burgos enters her 3rd Season running the Softball Wolfpack Program, which continues to grow.

 SAA Baseball will be INCLUDING all Levels – T-Ball thru Majors to play games in the new Scottsville, Gates and Chili Baseball Leauge this season and into the Future! All Games will be played at Memorial Park and Davis Park in Chili, Johnson Park in Scottsville and some games at the Genesee Country Village & Museum. 

T-Ball 

  • Must be kindergarten eligible or in Kindergarten, Ages 5-6.
  • Program for boys and girls
  • Games/Practices are played at the baseball field at TJ Connor on Monday and Wednesday from 6-7 pm.  Season runs for 7 weeks starting end of April -first week of June. 
  • Games will be played at Johnson Park or TJ Connor School Field.
  • Basic fundamentals are taught including how to throw, hitting off of a T, running the bases and how to properly field and bat.

Coach Pitch

  • Program for boys and girls in grades 1 and 2, Ages 7-8.
  • Games/practices are held at the front field at Johnson Park Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7 pm.  Season runs from end of April – 2nd week of June
  • Most Games will be played at Johnson Park and Memorial Park in Chili.
  • There will be additional home games with Cal-Mum.
  • Players are taught the basic fundamentals of baseball including throwing, fielding, running the bases and will begin to hit off of live pitching from the Coach.

Minors

  • Program for boys and girls in grades 3 and 4, Ages 9-10.
  • Competitive league baseball with Chili Baseball.
  • Games/practices will start mid-April (as soon as the weather permits) and run through Mid-June.  Games/practices are Mondays/Wednesdays/Saturdays.  Days and times are subject to change.
  • Practices at Johnson Park 6pm-715pm.
  • Players are taught how to pitch, field and throw, run the bases, how to slide and bat.
  • Players will be pitching at this level. (43 ft)
  • Equipment will be provided, you are more than welcome to bring your own equipment.  Baseball bats must be stamped “Little League Approved” or “USA or USSSA”​

Majors

  • Program for boys and girls in grades 5 and 6, Ages 11-12.
  • Competitive league with Chili.
  • Games/practices will start mid-April (as soon as the weather permits) and run through Mid-June.  Games/practices are Tuesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays.  Days and times are subject to change.
  • Practices at Johnson Park 6pm-715pm.
  • Players are taught how to pitch, field, throw and bat and further their skills for those prepared to continue on to the next level at school.
  • Players will be pitching at this level. (47 ft)
  • Equipment will be provided, you are more than welcome to bring your own equipment.  Baseball bats must be stamped “Little League Approved” or “USA or USSSA bats”

Softball

  • Program for girls in grades 3 – 6, ages 8-12.
  • Competitive league with Cal-Mum.
  • Games /practices start mid-April (as soon as weather permits) and run through mid -June.
  • Home games and practices will be at Johnson Park and Wheatland-Chili Junior/High School Fields.
  • Players are taught how to pitch, throw, field and bat.
  • Equipment will be provided.
